Northumbria University Research Project
A team from Northumbria University are working on a project for people living in Newcastle, aiming to increase numbers of veterans receiving treatment for drug and alcohol use.
They are initially looking for 2 military veterans, 2 family members of military veterans and 2 drug and alcohol workers to join their steering group; and for 6 military veterans; 6 veteran's family members; and 6 drug and alcohol use service staff members to take part in focus groups. A £20 voucher will be given for people's time and the groups will start in January.
Please get in touch with Celia at celia.j.mason@northumbria.ac.uk if you would like to find out more about getting involved.

We love what we do. The sense of pride you get when you know you’ve helped someone get their independence and dignity back is extraordinary. Through volunteering for SSAFA Tyne & Wear, you’ll have the chance to meet some truly inspiring people, with stories you’ll never forget. You’ll also gain new skills and experiences, but most importantly, you’ll make a difference in the lives of those who have dedicated their lives, often at great sacrifice, to protect and serve our country.
