Do a simple act of kindness!

Why get involved?

From 11 – 22 December, help us combat isolation and loneliness within our Armed Forces community by doing a simple act of kindness.


The ‘12 Days of Kindness’ is our way of encouraging our supporters to help raise vital funds for our serving personnel, veterans and their families - and will help to spread some much-needed 2020 festive cheer! If you’re asking for sponsorship in your act of kindness, you can set up a fundraising page for SSAFA on JustGiving or a Facebook Fundraiser.

To get you started we have provided 12 examples of the ways you can help, such as organising a virtual Christmas Big Brew Up, donating the cost of your office secret Santa gift, or volunteering for SSAFA. You can choose to do as many activities as you like, or group together with your friends and family. The key is to share your journey with your family, friends and colleagues to show the world how you want to help.

The smallest act will make a difference, and together you can help SSAFA support those in need in our Armed Forces community this Christmas. This is why it is important to share your challenge with all your friends and family! Whether on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or whichever platform you use, please share this vision using #SSAFA12Days.

What do I need to do?

Taking part is easy:

  1. Choose a fundraising target below to work towards
  2. Ask your family, friends, and the wider community to sponsor you
  3. Open a JustGiving page OR a Facebook Fundraiser
  4. Keep everyone updated by sharing your stories, pictures, and videos of your 12 Days of Kindness journey on your JustGiving and social media pages. 

 

Together, in 12 days, we can give a ray of hope, show kindness, and proudly support our veterans and service families.

Fundraising Targets

£25 - Would enable us to put a months’ worth of credit on a phone so that people can access services and communicate with family or a mentor.

£50 - Could pay for a SSAFA trained caseworker to safely visit someone in need of our help.

£150 - Could allow a child with a disability to go on a Short Break holiday that gives service families the opportunity to spend some quality time together.
