BAE Systems

The giant British defence manufacturer has been supporting SSAFA for over twenty years.

BAE Systems plc is a British multinational arms, security, and aerospace company based in London, United Kingdom. It is the largest defence contractor in Europe and as of 2017, it is the biggest manufacturer in Britain.

BAE Systems have supported SSAFA for over 20 years, with donations reaching the incredible milestone of £1 million in that time. In 2023, in addition to their annual £50,000 donation, they provided a further £24,000 to go directly towards the cost-of-living crisis. This additional funding will provide food and energy vouchers for hard-hit families and individuals.

During the partnership, they have also contributed towards the running costs of SSAFA's Norton Homes – a “home from home” facility that provides a comfortable, free, place for families to stay so that they can be near their loved ones (wounded, injured or sick service personnel) whilst they are in recovery.

The latest Norton Home, opened in 2019 provides accommodation to families whose loved ones are receiving treatment for injuries at the nearby Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre. BAE Systems donated an amazing £150,000 to the project.

"BAE Systems is committed to the Armed Forces, it lies at the very heart of what we do as a company. As a signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant, we are proud to support SSAFA."
