Partnerships with SSAFA

Working with your business to form a lasting relationship with strong strategic alliances, that support the Armed Forces community and their families in need.

Why Support SSAFA?

Corporate Partnerships are incredibly valuable to SSAFA. Organisations raise funds for us through donations or employee fundraising, promote our volunteer opportunities or donate their resources and skills. We aim to build bespoke and long-lasting relationships so SSAFA can continue to provide life changing support to the Armed Forces community and their families.

SSAFA is at the heart of the Armed Forces community:

  • More than 81 branches across the UK.
  • A presence on 58 military establishments to support the serving community.
  • Shopfront of over 130 military and welfare charities.
  • Highly respected and well-known charity in this specialised sector.
  • Have supported the Armed Forces community for over 137 years.

How we support Corporate Partners to achieve their business objectives:

Armed Forces Covenant

The Armed Forces Covenant is a MOD-led initiative to ensure that those serving or who have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly. SSAFA can help you with your Armed Forces pledges and help you navigate this specialised sector. Or perhaps your organisation has progressed onto the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS). SSAFA can provide ways for organisations to demonstrate their commitment to the Armed Forces and help celebrate key dates such as Armed Forces Day (June).

Engage employees

SSAFA can help organisations develop a calendar of fundraising and volunteer opportunities to engage employees throughout the year, including Remembrance and Armed Forces Day, the UK’s official day recognising the dedication and sacrifice made the members of our Armed Forces.

Social value

SSAFA have a range of programmes that support the achievement of key social value themes including covid-19 recovery, wellbeing, equal opportunity and tackling economic equality. Metrics available that are aligned with MOD procurement framework.

How do we work with Corporate Partners:

There are many options available to organisations who wish to work with SSAFA, and our dedicated account managers will support you however you wish to help. Our partnerships can engage with your business through a variety of initiatives:

Volunteering

From mentoring service leavers, to providing support to veterans, and even fun days out at fundraising events – SSAFA has a huge range of volunteering options. These involve various time commitments and give all those involved an incredible sense of giving back to the Armed Forces community.

Fundraising

At SSAFA, we believe that the more engaged a workforce is with the charity their company supports, the more likely our relationship will continue to grow. From coffee mornings, virtual challenges, and a huge range of challenge events – our account management team can work with you to develop a bespoke calendar of fundraising initiatives.

Match funding

If you have an incredible group of staff fundraising for SSAFA, why not commit to match funding their donation. This has huge impacts on competition and will significantly increase the amount of funding your business can donate to SSAFA.

Donations

SSAFA requires significant funding to continue reaching more than 70,000 people every year. If your company can do so, we welcome donations - no matter how big or small - to help us.  SSAFA can demonstrate the impact of your donation and how many people you have helped. We can direct your donation to a service that is aligned to your company values and objectives such as our Mentoring programme that supports the transition of service leavers to civilian life.

Sponsorship

From involvement in our cycle rides to support for our special events, sponsorship is a brilliant way to let the world know the difference your company is making for SSAFA.

SSAFA have a range of sponsorship opportunities available, including:

Gifts in Kind

Businesses can offer SSAFA more than just much needed funds. Do you have event spaces that can be used by SSAFA staff? Are you upgrading your IT equipment and can donate it to us? Are you able to supply products to help with our events? Creative ideas that can save SSAFA money or time are brilliant ways to help our charity thrive.

Sales fundraising

Sales fundraising, or commercial partnerships, is a form of charitable giving which happens when a business raises money for a charity by donating a proportion of the sales of a product or service e.g., 10% from the sales of a t-shirt or 10% from monthly invoices. Leverage SSAFA’s brand, reach and heritage to drive more sales whilst helping to fund the vital services SSAFA provides.
