Veteran's Foundation makes £10,000 donation

08 July 2019

This grant has helped enable us to recruit and train new mentors, who in turn have developed 119 new mentoring relationships, assisting service leavers to successfully transition to civilian life.

Mentoring helps to motivate and support those leaving the Armed Forces to fulfil their potential outside of the military and, with the need for this service growing year on year, it essential that we continue to meet this demand.

We are delighted to support the services of SSAFA and, in particular, its valuable mentoring work in assisting those who are leaving the Armed Forces. This can be a very difficult challenge and, through its mentors, SSAFA helps many leavers to overcome the difficulties and to enable them to make a successful transition to civilian life. In this regard, SSAFA's work meets the objectives of the Veterans' Foundation, which raises funds through the Veterans' Lottery and Donations to assist both former and serving members of the Armed Forces who are in need.

- The Veterans' Foundation
On behalf of all at SSAFA, our heartfelt thanks goes to the Veterans’ Foundation for their generous support. We know from working closely with the military community that leaving the Armed Forces can be a critical time for many people, which is where our specialist mentoring service comes into play, helping to ensure that leavers make a successful transition back into regular civilian life. We provide independent and confidential advice through one-to-one tailored support around life and career decisions.

The need for this service is growing, making this grant from the Veterans’ Foundation all the more vital.
