SSAFA volunteering now available on the Forces Family Jobs platform

28 July 2021

Forces Families Jobs (FFJ) is a tri-Service initiative, brought to you by the three military families' federations, which bridges the gap between current military families and forces-friendly employers and training providers.  FFJ is working with SSAFA, and will promote SSAFA volunteer roles across their network.

All types of roles can be found at FFJ, such as: part-time, full-time, home-based, voluntary and apprenticeships. They also signpost people to training providers who want to offer their opportunities to military families, as well as sharing relevant news stories and events with the Armed Forces community.

Jenna Richardson, Employment and Training Specialist at the Army Families Federation said: “I am absolutely delighted that we were able to work with Lisa and Dot to get SSAFA's volunteering roles advertised on FFJ because they are such good opportunities for military spouses who may want to build their CVs, develop skills and meet new people on postings. It is especially good for our overseas families who may be subject to strict employment restrictions in their location, so volunteering could be a possible solution.”

The roles available at SSAFA are varied, flexible and very rewarding, giving back to those that have served. Previous experience isn’t necessary as training will be provided. All backgrounds and experiences are welcomed.

Lisa Thipthorp, SSAFA Volunteer Development Manager said: “Everyone who offers their time to volunteer with SSAFA makes a huge difference. We have a wonderful volunteer support team at SSAFA to discuss what roles are available. Please do come and have a chat with us and see how you can support your Armed Forces community whilst gaining new valuable transferable skills.”

Please feel free to call our Forcesline if you need any support.
