SSAFA Scotland curries favour with Glasgow’s Mr Singh’s
29 July 2022
Quiz time: what do Billy Connolly, Kanye West, Cliff Richard, Orlando Bloom, James Arthur, and most recently Mel Gibson have in common?
The answer, for anyone in Glasgow – Scotland in its entirety, even – with a love of food, should be easy: they have all eaten at the renowned and award-winning restaurant Mr Singh’s India in Glasgow, the venue next month for the inaugural curry quiz night in aid of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
And while no-one is expecting the Big Yin or other celebrities to turn up at 7.30pm on Thursday, August 25, it will be open house to all that evening, and the last Thursday of each month from then on.
There are two dates currently available (please click on the links to book your tickets):
Mr Singh himself is particularly pleased to be involved in this fundraising partnership with SSAFA – the UK’s oldest tri-service charity – and said: “Mr Singh’s India is delighted to be supporting SSAFA and the fantastic work it does. Since we signed the Armed Forces Covenant, we have had the humble honour of working with MoD and SSAFA, on various initiatives, look forward to continuing our partnership with the monthly curry and quiz evenings.”
Scott Cunningham, SSAFA’s Community and Challenge Officer for Scotland, said “First, we would like to thank the Singh family for its generous support of SSAFA’s events. We’re delighted to be hosting our monthly curry and quiz events in the famous Mister Singh’s India Glasgow, and in fact I can’t think of no better location to kick off our community fundraising events here in Scotland.
“We’re really keen to make SSAFA more widely known within Scotland and what better way than partnering with this incredible restaurant that is so well known throughout the UK that it’s first stop for many celebrities when they visit Glasgow.”
Mr Singh’s India is at 149 Elderslie Street, Glasgow, G3 7JR.
