On Wednesday 30 June, Pen & Sword club held its inaugural event to celebrate its new charitable partners: SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity and HighGround, a military charity that specialises in helping ex-military personnel explore careers in the land-based sector. The event was held at The Farmers Club, near Embankment, London.

Established 30 years ago, the Pen & Sword Club is a recognised defence-wide communications organisation with a professional membership that includes Regular and Reservist members of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, the Army, the Royal Air Force and civilian practitioners within the UK Ministry of Defence.

Executive Council member and Immediate Past President, Mr. Hugh Colver, welcomed the high-powered gathering to the Farmers’ Club in Central London: "The Pen & Sword Club has a commitment to spread understanding of defence and the armed forces, while the charities we are affiliating with have a commitment to help past and present service men and women when they need it most.”

This partnership is hugely valuable to SSAFA and it looks forward to raising its profile within the esteemed membership organisation of the Pen & Sword club.
