Busy weekend for Inverness-shire & Western Isles Branch
14 August 2024
Fort George Celebration of the Centuries event
On Saturday 10th August the Inverness-shire & Western Isles Branch of SSAFA were kindly hosted by 3 Scots at Fort George during the Celebration of the Centuries event. The day was very successful in raising the profile of SSAFA and collecting a tidy sum to ensure they are able to continue to offer face-to-face support for those who need it most.
Saturday also saw the branch at the Nethy Bridge Highland Games. The branch gives a huge thankyou to Drew and others who were very welcoming and supportive and made the day a big success. This was the first time SSAFA have attended the event which attracted much attention from both veterans and others alike. The branch will certainly be back.
Finally on Sunday 11th August branch Chair David Hurley was able to join an army of other SSAFA volunteers at the Dundee Kiltwalk. It was a very hot day but typical SSAFA determination got everyone through. Well done to us all!
