Royal Homes Wimbledon

The Royal Homes provides independent-living housing for members and former members of all ranks of the Armed Forces, including other eligible beneficiaries and dependants.

The Royal Homes in Wimbledon were originally created as Homes for Officers’ Widows and Daughters following an appeal by SSAFA's founder Colonel Gildea in 1899 and are still managed today by SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

Eligibility has changed recently and accommodation now is available to members and former members of all ranks of the Armed Forces and their families; including those currently serving, veterans and reservists.

Our unique history means that at the Royal Homes we are fortunate to be able to provide our residents with a beautiful place to live at a reasonable cost. As a charity we will try to prioritise those most in need.

SSAFA's services are only available to people who have received at least one day's pay from the Armed Forces (British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Royal Marines, including Reserves), or are in the immediate family of someone who served.
