How to get your family active and how to stay safe in the heat when exercising.

Being active is beneficial because it can help:

❤️improve heart health

💪strengthen muscles and bones.

😊it can also improve sleep, reduce stress and lift mood

What are the benefits of moving more?

Staying active can help increase growth and boost mood. Choose an activity that you and your family enjoy!

   


Find below some top tips if exercising in the heat:

  • Start low and increase gradually, avoiding extreme exercise.
  • Try to exercise in the morning or evening, when its cooler.
  • Before activity children should drink lots and should not feel thirsty.
  • Replace sweaty clothing with dry clothing.

        

Heat exhaustion does not usually need emergency medical help if you can cool down within 30 minutes. If it turns into heatstroke, it needs to be treated as an emergency.
