Values define qualities with which we fulfil our mission and vision. Values are underpinned by SSAFA BRAVE Standards.
BRAVE Standards set the consistent, high expectations for the behaviours and actions of everyone within the charity, irrespective of an individual’s role, remit or seniority.

The below outlined behaviours are what we expect everyone at SSAFA to aspire to and live by.
Beneficiary-focused. We draw upon all our values, of understanding, compassion, commitment and integrity and keep them at the heart of our decision-making, and put the needs of the beneficiary first.
Respect for others. We strive to be considerate and non-judgmental, respect different opinions, choices and lived experiences. We listen with an open mind, learn, and share knowledge and offer constructive feedback proactively to promote better ways of working with open and respectful communication.
Adapting to change. We are responsive and adaptable, continuing to support all those who seek our help even when their needs change or the environment in which we operate. We are reliable and dedicated in our approach, constantly working to improve our welfare and wellbeing support for the Armed Forces community.
Valuing Diversity and Inclusion. We are credible, trustworthy, and transparent, questioning actions not consistent with our values. We recognise and celebrate everyone, and seek to understand their individual views and beliefs. We tackle discrimination together and challenge any prejudices we see in ourselves, and others.
