The UK’s oldest tri-service charity has bestowed its top honour to a couple from Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.
It has been a busy 12 months for Captain Brian "Spats" Baxter late of the Black Watch, and fundraiser for the Perth & Kinross branch of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
It has been a tumultuous time in the world since former Paratrooper, Chris Lewis, stepped off from Llangennith Beach on August 1, 2017, to walk the UK coastline and raise much-needed money for SSAFA.
This month, the London branches of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, have come together to donate funds to Regent’s Park Barracks to ensure service children are looked after throughout the holidays.
