Meet the Team

The team at SSAFA Lincolnshire is dedicated to helping veterans and their families in the local community. Our commitment is to provide support with experienced, non-judgemental and friendly advice, as well as a variety of practical services that cover a range of emotional, practical and financial issues. We are proud to say that we help our Armed Forces family whenever they need us, for as long as they need us. Here at SSAFA Lincolnshire, we have a variety of different personalities that together make our team so special.

Brian Davies

Branch Secretary

Brian, born in Wales and joined the RAF as a Boy Entrant and served for 32 years. Worked for various government agencies until retirement. Joined SSAFA as a caseworker over 14 years ago and now has the role of Branch Secretary.

Henry Lether

Volunteer Caseworker and Lincolnshire Branch Caseworker Representative

Henry served with the RAF for 30 years followed by working for various Aerospace Companies for a further 8 years. He has been an active SSAFA Caseworker for 16 years and represents the Caseworkers within the Branch.

Jim Evans

Branch Chair

Jim Evans took over as SSAFA Lincolnshire Branch Chairman in early 2024. He was born in RAF Changi, Singapore, the son of an RAF Policeman. Jim spent his childhood on bases in the UK, Germany and Cyprus before his family settled in Sleaford where his parents both became local SSAFA caseworkers. It was through this that he developed a long standing connection with the Charity. Jim served for 20 years in the RAF before working in the defence industry, spending the first years of his second career in Munich. He attributes his not-so-slim figure to 7-years of Oktoberfest. On return from Germany, he served a further 5 years in the RAF Reserve and finally retired in 2023. Choosing to devote some of his spare time to something useful, Jim joined SSAFA and now has no spare time. He and his wife Rose live near Sleaford and have 3 grown up children, 2 grand children, 6 dogs, 3 cats and a Leopard Gecko.

Shaunagh Rodgers

Social Media Representative Volunteer

Shaunagh wanted to support SSAFA by utitilizing her skills in computer arts and design to volunteer as a social media representative. With a husband who is ex-forces, she saw SSAFA as the ideal charity to get involved and helps the Lincolnshire branch with their online presence. Originally from Zimbabwe, England is now her home and she loves exploring the Lincolnshire region and started volunteering with SSAFA at the beginning of the year.

Volunteer with us

We love what we do. The sense of pride you get when you know you’ve helped someone get their independence and dignity back is extraordinary. Through volunteering for SSAFA Lincolnshire, you’ll have the chance to meet some truly inspiring people, with stories you’ll never forget. You’ll also gain new skills and experiences, but most importantly, you’ll make a difference in the lives of those who have dedicated their lives, often at great sacrifice, to protect and serve our country.
